Edwin’s big day

The Cubs won yesterday! Even better, they won on a day I sold my tickets! I’ve actually sold most of this week thanks to a friend who’ll be in Chicago for restaurant week, which is excellent. He’ll get to see what the Cubs give to Jeter as a gift when the Yankees come to town for the inter league series this week. Since Jeter is a native son of Illinois I’m sure they’ll treat him to something excellent.

Edwin Jackson struck out 11 Brewers yesterday, a season high. Luckily Jackson’s pitching broke a three game losing streak that (fingers crossed) won’t begin anew today. Of course the Cubs are still 12 games behind the Brewers, who lead the division, but I tend not to expect to be anywhere but last place these days. Hopefully this will prove to be a strong week for the Cubs, it would be nice if they could AT LEAST split the two game series with the Yankees before traveling to California for a four game series with San Diego followed by three games against San Francisco.
